Little Rock trip!

I had a great weekend. Friday night went out with friends to a late dinner at Celtic Crossing, and then to a midnight showing of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It was a lot of fun to see it on the big screen, and hearing the whole audience yelling the lines along with the movie.

Saturday I got picked up by my aunt, Kristie and my cousins Cat & Rach. We made the 2 1/2 hour trek to Little Rock for my aunt’s birthday – she got gift cards to the Container Store for Christmas, so her birthday present was to go to the closest one to spend them (which was Little Rock). We got checked into our hotel and went over to Central High School and its visitor center. It was really neat. After that we went and checked out the Clinton museum, then walked around downtown a little bit.

We ended up in a used bookstore (run by their library system) where I picked up two books (Princes in the Tower, by Alison Weir, one of my fav. authors – $4! and The Six Wives of Henry VIII by David Starkey in hardback for $6) and this comic (out of a pile of about 40 random comics they had on a table) – I snagged it because it had the fold out poster still in it, nice! My cousin got some really sweet books – an old copy of “Farewell to Arms” in particular, which smelled AMAZING. (everyone kept making fun of me for wanting to smell it. But if you know and love that “old book smell” you know what I’m talking about.)

After that we headed to the Container Store, which was AWESOME, and I’m totally jealous of you guys who have one in your city. I had looked all through their website back when I was deciding how to store the costumes – THIS is what I had initially wanted, but the price per drawer was too high to be feasible. I got to see one in person though, and I wish I’d been able to use them because they’re super nice!

I did get a small magnetic board with the magnetic containers you can put on it, and a couple of little boxes, and a dry erase board Chase had wanted. My aunt was in there for almost three hours! She was loving it. While she finished up, my cousins and I walked around the shopping center – we went in Alfred Angelo just to look at the Disney wedding dresses and the girl in there was super nice to show us around, show us the dresses and even give us the Disney wedding dress book – all this even after we told her none of us were getting married!

After that, we went back and settled into the hotel, watched the OT of the Tiger game and ordered take out. We all enjoyed our new books and went to bed pretty early. The next day we got up late and headed out, and Catherine broke her word to some old man about returning a luggage cart LOL Headed home stuffed into my aunt’s car in between all of the stuff we’d bought!

Anyway, it’s snowing again. Third time! OMG, what is happening? LOL.
Last night I went to Walmart to attempt to use up the gift card I got for christmas (I hate going to walmart, it’s so dreary.) I get a bolt of some random grey fabric, some kind of blend, but it was $5 for 5 yds and a decent weight to use for muslins. However the rest of the trip was fail – I wanted two things: Sims 3 Night Life and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince on bluray (only one of them I’m missing.) They had NEITHER. LAME.
BUT! I did get these at Target. They are posing on Chase’s latest Lego creation.
